Congress Parking – Some Options

1. FREE PARKING:

Some free street parking (with a very limited number of spots) is available on NW Marine Drive around Gate 6 (a five-minute walk away from the congress location) 

2. PARKADES:

Rates: $1.50 for 30 min. up to a maximum of $12.00 per day;

a cheaper flat rate of $4.00 applies for evening parking (entry after 5:00 pm) and weekends.

West Parkade (= closest parkade to congress location): 2140 Lower Mall

à turn into University Boulevard from NW Marine Drive (at Gate 6), then turn right into Lower Mall (behind St JohnÕs College)

Fraser River Parkade: 1913 West Mall

à located behind the Nitobe Memorial Garden (Gate 5), between the Asian Centre and the First Nations Longhouse

Health & Science Parkade:

à located West of the UBC Hospital near East Mall & Health Sciences Mall (between Gates 1 & 11)

Rose Garden Parkade: 6278 NW Marine Drive

à South-East of the Museum of Anthropology, across from Green College (between Gates 3 & 4)

North Parkade: 6115 Student Union Mall

à West of Gage Residence, close to Student Union Building & Rec Centre (West of Gate 2)

3. PAY & DISPLAY SURFACE PARKING:

Rates: the rates vary slightly from parking lot to parking lot but are usually a bit lower than in the parkades; general rule: the surface parking gets cheaper the further South you park (up to – or rather, down to – a special flat rate of $4.50 per day)

Health & Sciences Surface Parking:

à North-East of the UBC Hospital (between Gates 1 & 11)

Thunderbird Residence Surface Parking:

à North of Thunderbird Residence (East of Gate 7)

Thunderbird Winter Sports Centre Surface Parking:

à North of & all around Thunderbird Winter Sports Centre (West of Gate 11)

4. SHORT-TERM PARKING WITH PARKING METERS:

Some short-term surface parking (up to 2 hours) with parking meters can be found at various locations within walking distance of the Congress Location (see campus map for details)

Rates: $1.50 for 30 min.
